Managing The Landscape. Serving People.
The landscape and nature does something for the soul. It has a way of lifting our spirits when we are down and can bring energy to a dull moment. I witnessed this first hand when my oldest daughter had to be in the hospital for a week when she was six weeks old. It was a dark time for both my wife and I. I remember going down to the cafeteria and stepping out the side door into a courtyard. The sun was beaming down showing off the green grass and the vibrant colors along the walking path. My spirits were lifted almost immediately. It was amazing to see God’s beauty and how refreshing it can be. Along the way I also realized how self-serving it can be to serve others. Serving others is part of our responsibility on this earth and one way that I can do that is by offering a service to people and the community by maintaining the landscape, allowing others to have that moment that I had when my daughter was in the hospital, and by giving a place for people to come work and fellowship together.
